Bruno Fernandes to Real Madrid? Man Utd Ready to Sell for €100m

Manchester United could part ways with Bruno Fernandes this summer if Real Madrid presents an offer exceeding €100 million, according to Talksport pundits Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling. The Portuguese midfielder, who has been a key figure at Old Trafford since his arrival in 2020, is reportedly eager to make the move if the opportunity arises.

Growing Links to Madrid

Speculation surrounding Fernandes’ potential switch to the Santiago Bernabéu has intensified in recent weeks. Real Madrid, seeking to bolster their midfield, have identified Fernandes as a prime target. Despite his status as one of Europe’s most prolific attacking midfielders, Fernandes has expressed frustration with Manchester United’s lack of silverware, leading to increasing doubts over his long-term future at the club.

However, United manager Ruben Amorim has dismissed the possibility of an exit. “No, it’s not going to happen,” Amorim stated. “He plays 55 games every season and contributes at least 30 goals and assists combined. He understands our vision and supports Manchester United. His frustration is a sign of his commitment. He is going nowhere—I already told him.”

Pundits Predict Fernandes’ Departure

Despite Amorim’s firm stance, McCoist and Stelling believe Fernandes’ departure is inevitable if Real Madrid submits a significant offer. Stelling argued that new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe would accept a £90 million (€107m) bid without hesitation.

“If Real Madrid come in with that kind of money, Ratcliffe is shaking his hand and saying, ‘Good luck,’” Stelling remarked. McCoist added, “Fernandes himself will be pushing for the move. He deserves to be playing with better players right now. Manchester United are massive, but they’re struggling.”

A Career at a Crossroads

Since joining United from Sporting Lisbon in 2020, Fernandes has made 277 appearances, netting 95 goals. However, his trophy cabinet remains modest, with just one EFL Cup and one FA Cup to show for his efforts. If Real Madrid formalizes their interest, Fernandes may find the lure of the Spanish giants impossible to resist.
