Anfield Targets: Five Star Signings Liverpool Are Eyeing This Summer

Arne Slot’s tenure at Liverpool began quietly in the transfer market, with Federico Chiesa the only addition during his first window at Anfield. However, the Dutchman is expected to oversee a far more aggressive recruitment drive in 2025 as the Reds prepare for a potential squad overhaul.

Liverpool are bracing for the possible departures of star duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Darwin Nunez. With that in mind, the club is prioritizing reinforcements in both full-back positions and across the forward line.

On the left side of defense, Liverpool are actively pursuing Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez. The 20-year-old Hungarian has impressed under Andoni Iraola and is reportedly keen on a move to Anfield at the conclusion of the current campaign. Kerkez is seen as a long-term successor to Andrew Robertson, who remains the club’s first-choice left-back.

Another name on Liverpool’s radar is Fulham’s Antonee Robinson. The American international has emerged as one of the Premier League’s top full-backs in recent seasons. With both Kerkez and Robinson in the frame, Liverpool face a key decision on who will anchor the left flank going forward.

Up front, Alexander Isak is a top target as Liverpool seek a new central striker. Newcastle are determined to keep the Swedish forward and are offering a new contract to deter interest, but failure to secure Champions League football could open the door to a move. Arsenal are also reportedly in the hunt.

The right-back position may become a pressing concern if Alexander-Arnold departs on a free transfer to Real Madrid, as widely expected. Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong has been identified as a strong candidate to fill that void. Frimpong has thrived under Xabi Alonso in a wing-back role and could provide a dynamic presence down the right.

Finally, with Mohamed Salah’s future uncertain, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is emerging as a primary target. The Cameroon international is also drawing interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, setting up a potential transfer battle.

Liverpool’s summer window looks set to be transformative as Slot begins to mold the squad in his image.
